Easter is only a couple of weeks away and we have some fantastic little easter gifts to share. It doesn‘t always have to be about chocolate. Take a look at a beautiful book written by our stallholder Ebony-Jane Carroll, entitled "Eggs".

Ebony-Jane Carroll was born and lives in Melbourne Australia. ‘Eggs‘ is her first children‘s picture story book and was launched in May 2014, although she had come up with the concept in 2006 when she was working in a book store.

Writing has been a creative hobby and therapeutic outlet of hers since childhood and consisted of penning short stories, poetry, lyrics and most successfully thus far, film script. In 2007 she entered two scripts into the annual short film competition MAFMAD (Make a Film. Make a Difference) and both were shortlisted in the top eight. She went on to win with her piece entitled ‘Pose‘ and was fortunate enough to be given the artistic freedom to produce it herself and see it released in cinemas across Victoria.

Sometime after this she began learning about and working with young children and finally decided to publish her story. She created her own publishing company ‘Pose Publishing‘ and sought out an editor, illustrator and printer to turn her dream into a reality.

Ebony-Jane is a kindergarten teacher, has both undergrad and postgrad qualifications in education and is passionate about inspiring young children to fall in love with literature.

"Eggs" will be available THIS Sunday at the market.
