Boo Davis is a designer, illustrator and quilter living in Seattle. She makes heavy metal-inspired quilts under the studio name, Quiltsrÿche, and is the author of Dare to Be Square Quilting - a sickeningly cute guide to modern patchwork. Boo spent much of her youth cozied up under her grandmother‘s quilt listening to Ozzy. As a grown-up metalhead and design geek, the intersection of cute and evil is what she finds most compelling.

Dare to Be Square Quilting showcases fun, slightly quirky designs that take quilts into new graphic territory. With 10 charming quilt patterns and 12 eye-popping patchwork projects, Boo Davis reinterprets traditional quilt patterns with bold pictorial representations, limiting her designs to simple-to-sew squares and rectangles. With advice on color and fabric selection, and an extensive how-to section on quilting, Boo teaches the fastest, simplest, and most reliable methods modern quilting has to offer. This ‘aint no nanna quilting!
Straight seamed designs - bold reinterpretations of old-school patterns.
"Boo Davis is a rock star! ‘Dare to Be Square Quilting‘ is the perfect patchwork primer for beginners and a refreshing review for experienced quilters. A must-have book for any quilt or craft library."
