Books, books, books!

Dancing, drawing and reading are everyday happenings in our wee suburban home. An abundance of books overflow on our girl‘s bookshelves and I know how lucky we are. Lucky that we have a great education system in place, that we have access to resourceful libraries, lucky we have regular money coming in and we can afford to buy books. I don‘t believe you can ever have too many books UNLESS of course there is a good cause like the one we are involved in at the moment.
Do you have some books that your kids have outgrown? We at the Mulgrave Makers Market are raising money to help the ALNF raise language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia, particularly among marginalised Australians, including refugees and those in indigenous communities.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

  • Donate any kind of novel, picture book or reference book and write a short review inside the front cover for the new owner.
  • Books can be donated at the market on Sundays from August 26th.
  • Details about the Biggest Book Fair at our September market to come soon.

We LOVE Justine Clarke in this household, do you? On her first cd is a catchy tune called ‘Off to the Library‘, do you know it?

Justine Clarke - Off To The Library

Off to the library 1 2 3
Off to the library you and me
And when we get there
What do we see?
Books books books books books
Everywhere you look
Books by the door and books up the wall
Books on the floor and books in the hall
Books for the girls and
Books for the boys
Just one rule -
You can‘t make a noise
Shhhhh
Off to the library 2 3 4
Off to the library to take out some more
Take back the ones that we took out before
Books books books books
Books books books books
Books books books books books
